Palekar Tribunal
What is Palekar Tribunal?
Two tribunals were appointed by the Central Government under the provisions of the Working Journalists and other Newspaper Employees, and Miscellaneous Act of 1955. On 13th August 1980, these tribunals submitted their recommendations to the government; these recommendations included the dearness allowance and the wage rates of working and nonworking journalists. The government accepted all recommendations but the deadness allowance. Nevertheless, the dearness allowance recommendation was modified and accepted later.
